Daniel Masterton (1878-1903)

Daniel Masterton, tailor, was born in Dunfermline, Fife and in 1901 is recorded as having travelled to New York through Ellis Island. He died suddenly in 1903 at the age of 25 after having been found beside the railway near Kelty in Fife. He died soon afterwards.
Genealogy
Daniel Masterton was the fifth of seven children (six of them boys) born to Daniel Masterton, joiner and farmer, and Jane Hutton Stewart, who had married in 1870 in Dunfermline, Fife. ACCIDENT AT KELTY. - Yesterday morning a man was found in an unconscious condition on the railway near Kelty. He was suffering from concussion of the brain, and one of his hands had been cut off. It was ascertained that the man, who was removed to the Dunfermline Cottage Hospital, was Daniel Masterton, tailor, Kelty.

FATAL RESULT OF ACCIDENT AT DUNFERMLINE. - Daniel Masterton, tailor, Blairmill Farm, Ballingry, who was found injured and in an unconscious state on the railway at Kelty on Sunday, has died in the Dunfermline Cottage Hospital.
