Australian Railwayman

David McCulloch Masterton was a railway man and records survive of his role taking responsibility as watchman and repairer for a section of line to carry the Victoria Royal Train carrying the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and York from Fort Melbourne to Albury in 1901.

Genealogy

David McCulloch Masterton was the eleventh child and sixth son of James Alexander Masterton and Janet Park, who had married in 1847 in Alva, Stirling, Scotland and who emigrated on the infamous "Ticonderoga" fever ship to Victoria, Australia in 1852.
